Kansans Age 65 and Older

Today there is an estimated 358,171 Kansans aged 65 or older. By the year 2025 this population will have nearly doubled from that of 1990.

This population group will enjoy a steady growth until the year 2010. At that time a remarkable increase will occur primarily because the Baby Boomers* join this population group. The increase projected to be seen will be an increase from approximately 342,839 Kansans aged 65 or older in 1990 to an estimated 391,065 in 2010 and reach a count of 604,654 by the year 2025.
