Prevention of Elder Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (PEANE) Grants

 

PEANE funds are made availalbe to selected grantees for projects that provide either education, training or research for the prevention or awareness of elder abuse, neglect, exploitation or fiduciary abuse of the elderly. The grants may also be used to provide public education and outreach to promote financial literacy and prevent identity theft and financial exploitation of older individuals. Through an annual request-for-proposal process, KDOA grants the funds to a variety of agencies and organizations.

PEANE GRANT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

July 2011

The Kansas Department on Aging (KDOA) will be accepting Special Project Grant Applications for a statewide project proposal for the Prevention of Elder Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (PEANE) of older individuals.

Any Kansas public agency or private not-for-profit corporation registered with the Office of the Secretary of State may apply for these funds. Applicants are encouraged to partner with other entities to develop an education or training proposal. This is a one year grant for up to $7,000. The grant period is from September 1, 2011 through August 31, 2012.

Priority consideration will be given to applicants who propose:
*Education or training for individuals, caregivers, professionals, paraprofessionals, or law enforcement personnel.
*Offer PEANE training or education in diverse locations across Kansas.
*Education or training of current interest to the target population.
