Rolling Hills Health Center fined $8,000

The Kansas Department on Aging (KDOA) has been notified that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has imposed an $8,000 civil monetary penalty on Rolling Hills Health Center, 2400 S.W. Urish Rd., Topeka.

The fine resulted from violations which significantly and adversely affected the health, safety, nutrition or sanitation of the adult care residents of the facility. The violations were identified in a survey on November 21, 2006.

KDOA conducts the facility surveys, but the federal agency imposes the penalties. The facility has 60 days to file an appeal.
