Heritage Village of Eskridge fined $15,000

The Kansas Department on Aging (KDOA) has been notified that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has imposed fines totaling $15,000 on Heritage Village of Eskridge, 505 N. Main St., Eskridge.

A fine of $7,000 resulted from violations which significantly and adversely affected the health, safety, nutrition or sanitation of the adult care residents of the facility. The violations were identified in a survey on April 13, 2006. Following a follow-up survey on May 1, an $8,000 fine was imposed.

KDOA conducts the facility surveys, but the federal agency imposes the penalties. The facility has 60 days to file an appeal.
