The Kansas Department on Aging (KDOA) has been notified that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has imposed a $5,000 civil monetary penalty on Cambridge Place, 1100 North 16th St., Marysville.
The fine resulted from violations which significantly and adversely affected the health, safety, nutrition or sanitation of the adult care residents of the facility. The violations were identified in a survey on May 1, 2006.
A denial of payment for new Medicare and Medicaid admissions also has been imposed, effective May 26, 2006. It will remain in effect until the facility has achieved substantial compliance.
KDOA conducts the facility surveys, but the federal agency imposes the penalties. The facility has 60 days to file an appeal.
