The Kansas Department on Aging (KDOA) has been notified that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have imposed a $3,250 civil monetary penalty against Westwood Manor, 5015 SW 28th St., Topeka.
The fine resulted from violations which significantly and adversely affected the health, safety, nutrition or sanitation of the adult care residents of the facility. The violations were identified in a survey conducted May 2, 2005.
KDOA conducts the facility surveys, but the federal agency imposes the fine.
