The Kansas Department on Aging (KDOA) has been notified that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have imposed a $1,000 civil monetary penalty on Newton Presbyterian Manor, 1200 East 7th Street, Newton.
The fine resulted from violations which significantly and adversely affected the health, safety, nutrition or sanitation of the adult care residents of the facility. The violations were identified in a survey on February 19-20, 2005.
KDOA conducts the facility surveys, but the federal agency imposes the fine.
