The Kansas Department on Aging (KDOA) has been notified that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have imposed a $5,000 civil monetary penalty and denial of payment for new admissions against Westwood Manor, 5015 SW 28 th St., Topeka.
The fine resulted from violations which significantly and adversely affected the health, safety, nutrition or sanitation of the adult care residents of the facility. The violations were identified in a survey conducted May 30, 2005. The denial of payment for new admissions was imposed effective May 30, 2005.
KDOA conducts the facility surveys, but the federal agency imposes the fine and denial of payment.
