Special Projects Grants are designed to provide either education/training or research for the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, exploitation; or astudy of the nature or extent of financial exploitation of the elderly. Through an annual request-for-proposal process, KDOA grants the funds to a variety of agencies and organizations. The grant period is June 1, 2006, through May 31, 2007.
Persons served: There were 46 workshops presented. Participants included professionals in the fields of social work, health care, law enforcement, local government services and caregiving.
