When participants look at their communities, the following websites related to health care have been recommended as resources:

Organizations:

The Internet (and your local phone book) can lead you to organizations that deal with diseases and conditions which may affect you and your body. A few examples include:

They will likely have information on your local community that can be helpful in determining the needs locally.

Planning Resources:

In terms of health planning, an important resource is the Kansas Department of Health and Environment web page at http://www.kdhe.state.ks.us/index.html. Particularly useful to smaller communities may be the Office of Local and Rural Health located at http://www.kdhe.state.ks.us/olrh

End of Life Care:

The Kansas Life Project is assisting individuals and communities look at how end-of-life care is handled. They are looking at how pain is handled, often an overlooked issue. To learn more about the Project and their work, go to http://www.lifeproject.org
