A Message from Secretary Greenlee:
Looking back on Governor's Conference highlights...

Secretary GreenleeThe staff and I and more than 800 attendees at the Governor’s Conference on Aging Services appreciated Governor Kathleen Sebelius taking time out of her busy schedule to open the conference and welcome everyone.

We also got to hear from Frank Burns from the Administration on Aging who stressed the importance in growth of and support for community-based services, such as those provided by the Area Agencies on Aging.

Then I had the pleasure of handing out PEAK Awards to 10 nursing homes that have made great strides in person-centered care. PEAK stands for Promoting Excellent Alternatives in Kansas nursing homes, and this is the seventh year KDOA has made the awards. I look forward to visiting each of the winning homes this summer to personally see their “excellent alternatives.”
